We're recruiting now for a talented Backend Web Developer to join our clients Web & Marketing team at a highly successful eCommerce retailer with a number of diverse portfolios. Based between Huddersfield and Wakefield, our client is a thriving business looking to expand further.
About the Job:
As a Backend Web Developer, you'll play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the systems, primarily built in Laravel and CakePHP. You'll work closely with the existing team to enhance the performance of their eCommerce websites and collaborate across departments to drive productivity and profitability.

About the Job:
Develop and maintain systems in Laravel and CakePHP
Collaborate cross-departmentally with Marketing, Graphic Design, Customer Service, Purchasing, Trends, and Production
Enhance eCommerce website performance in aesthetics, functionality, and conversion rates
Work collaboratively to develop in-house systems for increased productivity and profitability
Stay updated on new technologies and techniques
Collaborate with front-end developers to design functional and cohesive code for an improved user experience
Lead projects as required
About you:
Strong communication and analytical skills
Object-oriented development
Proficiency in PHP & relational databases (e.g., MySQL)
Experience with MVC frameworks such as Laravel or CakePHP
Familiarity with building and consuming APIs
Attention to detail
Team player mentality
Passion for programming and eCommerce
Experience with code versioning software (e.g., Git, SVN)
Desirable Skills:
Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Acceptance Testing
Experience with Composer or other package management tools
Familiarity with PSR-2 coding standard
Database design knowledge
Front-end technologies experience (JS, CSS)
Experience in a fast-paced eCommerce environment
