Fullstack PHP Developer (ideally Laravel and/or React experience) - Educational Software - Brighton, Sussex - fully remote or hybrid up to 45k plus excellent bens.

We have a brilliant opportunity for a fully remote or hybrid Full stack PHP developer to join the team at a well-known Educational Software company based in the heart of Brighton. You will be involved in building dynamic SaaS products that connect millions of students everyday providing crucial educational support at a vital time in their lives. This company are currently rebuilding their technology platform and the user experience they provide to their customers and they are now at a very exciting time in their growth which means they are looking to add a mid-level full-stack developer to their multidisciplinary agile development team.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a Mid-Level full stack developer to work on a fast-paced multidisciplinary product team of Engineers, QA, DevOps, Product Designers and Product Managers. If you have 2 to 3 years' experience as a full stack developer coding with PHP (Laravel) and perhaps have some knowledge of integrating it into the front end using React, then this is a brilliant opportunity to work with a household brand name in an exciting fast paced role where you will be following agile processes, working in two-week sprints, with all the ceremonies you would expect in an empowered product team. This brilliant opprtunity can be worked remotely with quarterly visits to the office in Brighton however you are welcome to work in the company's Brighton office too, with many of the company's team finding the hybrid approach works best for them, working in cross functional, supportive and hybrid teams. You will be a core contributor to the scope, technical design, development, and delivery of the solutions which will achieve the highest impact outcomes, writing and reviewing high quality code each day, in a test-driven environment using a combination of the company's technologies.

Skills Required:

* PHP (Laravel), Ruby (Rails) could be a bonus but is not essential)

* Javascript (React.js)

* MySQL

* Elasticsearch

* Redis

Ideally you should have:

* 3+ years in a software engineering role within a company that builds its own software.

* Be proficient in the PHP Laravel framework - Ruby would be good too, but not essential

* Have commercial experience with JavaScript frameworks. The company use React so welcome people who have experience with it or who would like to use it.

* You should be familiar with familiar with SQL queries and schemas with any popular database such as MySQL, Postgres, etc.

* And finally you should have a genuine enthusiasm for working with new technology.

Desirable (but not essential) skills would be:

* CI/CD tools such as GitHub actions, Jenkins, etc.

* AWS, Docker and other relevant DevOps experience.

* Micro-service architecture / RESTful API's.

* Working with high traffic websites.
