Senior Software Developer
Senior Software Developer (PHP/Laravel/JS)
£45,000-£60,000 + annual bonus
Norwich (hybrid working)
Monday-Friday
We're looking for a talented Senior Software Developer to join our growing team. If you're passionate about building great products, enjoy working with modern cloud-based tech, and love solving real-world problems, we'd love to hear from you.
In this role, you'll be developing smart SaaS applications for the insurance industry and beyond. You'll work with a wide range of people—insurance companies, suppliers, and even police forces—both in the UK and around the world. We're using the latest tools and approaches like serverless architecture, microservices, and AWS to build scalable, modern solutions.
You'll be joining a supportive and collaborative team where your ideas and contributions will make a real difference from day one.
What you'll be doing:
* Leading by example, working alongside other senior developers.
* Building and maintaining web apps using PHP (Laravel) and JavaScript (Angular or similar frameworks).
* Delivering new features and improving existing applications—end to end.
* Designing and building robust, scalable systems using modern cloud technologies.
* Collaborating closely with product managers, stakeholders, and other team members to turn ideas into working software.
* Contributing to technical discussions, helping solve tricky problems, and sharing your knowledge with the team.
* Supporting our continuous improvement culture by taking part in code reviews, retrospectives, and sprint planning.
* Occasionally providing third-line support for our live systems.
What we're looking for:
Must-haves:
* Strong PHP experience (ideally PHP 8.3+), with a few years of solid professional experience under your belt.
* Hands-on experience with Laravel (preferably version 11+).
* Confident using Angular or a similar JavaScript framework (Vue, React, etc.).
* Experience working with RESTful APIs and JSON integrations.
* Comfortable using Git and familiar with tools like Jira.
* A collaborative approach and great communication skills.
* A natural problem solver who loves learning new tech and sharing ideas.
Nice-to-haves:
* Experience with AWS, especially Lambda and other serverless services.
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
* Understanding of design patterns and clean code principles.
* Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
* Bootstrap or similar front-end frameworks.
* Exposure to low-code/no-code platforms.
Why you'll love working with us:
* You'll get to work on meaningful products that make a difference.
* We're a growing team where your voice will be heard.
* We use modern tech and encourage trying new things.
* You'll enjoy flexibility, autonomy, and plenty of opportunities to learn and grow.
